A range of consulting services are offered in the following areas:

Major OHS Risk Identification Survey

This survey is designed for workplaces that are in the early stages of development or reviewing their occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) and require identification of major risks in order to prioritise their risk management improvement program.

NSCA FiveStar

NSCA FiveStar is an internationally acclaimed, quality management systems approach to managing workplace health and safety.

Features include:

• A framework for improving your organisation’s OHS performance

• An independent standard complimenting AS/NZS 4801 and is compatible with local and international standards

• A tried and highly effective program with management and implementation structure

• Suitable for all organisations and industries.

OHS Management Systems

The NSCA also produces a number of OHS management systems that range in capability, from the fundamentals(for small to medium businesses with little or no experience in OHS systems and processes) to fully customised programs, implemented with the assistance of an NSCA consultant, such as QuickStart.

Safety Climate Survey

The Safety Climate Survey is designed to provide an insight into workplace safety culture and identify areas for improvement. The effectiveness of the management system is analysed by obtaining a ‘snapshot’ of safety perception within the organisation.

HazNet

HazNet is a comprehensive, online risk management program that guides you through the process outlined in AS/NZS4360. It provides a documented record of the analysis, evaluation and treatment of risks and can be tailored to meet individual requirements. HazNet can be completely self managed or an NSCA consultant can assist in rollout and appraisal.

Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Monitoring Services

Health, safety and environment laws require employers to conduct risk assessments of all work processes that involve hazardous substances. Occupational hygiene systems and practices are key elements of managing workplace health and environmental risks.

The audit normally seeks to:

• Assess documentation against relevant standardsand codes of practice

• Check relevant documents for internal consistency

• Evaluate the effectiveness of selected parts of the management system by review of relevant reports
